Owned by the Duke of Devonshire, the Bolton Abbey Estate is a magnificent 30,000 acre site in the Yorkshire Dales. Encompassing beautiful moorland, forests, wildlife and the River Wharfe. The estate’s breathtaking scenery has been captured by many famous British artists including William Turner, John Ruskin and William Wordsworth.

Built in the early 1500s, the grade II-listed Tithe Barn is an impressive wedding venue that you are guaranteed to fall in love with.

At 55 metres long, Bolton Abbey’s Tithe Barn is one of the biggest and best-preserved barn wedding venues in the North. The Tithe Barn ranks amongst the UK’s largest wedding venues and is equally impressive both inside and out.

The intricate timber structure of the barn’s elevated ceiling alone is enough to leave you astounded. Famously high, the Tithe Barn’s ceiling is elegantly adorned with exquisite chandeliers, candles and fairy lights.

Yet, whether your guest list is large or small, the Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey will feel like a perfect fit. The barn’s courtyard, terrace and grounds ensure there is plenty of outdoor space from where you can enjoy the views.

Outdoor areas always create a great atmosphere at a wedding. The Tithe Barn’s numerous fire pits and seated areas make the barn’s exterior spaces lovely places for your guests to mingle.

The estate provides a number of options for where you exchange your vows.

You can choose to hold your wedding ceremony in the Tithe Barn, on the terrace flanked by sublime views of the landscape beyond or in one of the many local churches which includes the stunning Bolton Priory Church.

Bolton Priory Church is a significant fixture in the local area. First constructed in the twelfth century, the Bolton Abbey Estate’s medieval church is absolutely divine and bordered by endless green with the Priory ruins close by.

After the ceremony, it’s great to get out into the grounds and get plenty of phenomenal shots. The Tithe Barn is available for weddings all year round and the photography remains impressive whatever the season.

Food is cooked in-house, in the venue’s open kitchen by the site’s brilliant team of chefs. The menu is absolutely delicious and includes everything from an indoor barbecue to French rotisseries, shared platters, classic puddings and more.

The Tithe Barn has all the state of the art facilities you need for your evening party. Better still, the venue has a late licence so you can carry on celebrating into the early hours! The barn’s enormous capacity can hold up to 300 guests or 200 seated guests.
